DUNGEON NERDS: THE INTERACTIVE COMIC

(Pulsa aquí para leer esta página en español)

Introduction: welcome to the new project I'm starting on my web, a project of a roleplaying comic strip in which my readers will be the ones who choose the characters' destiny, up to a point: in short, an interactive comic strip, more or less freely based (having in count it will be a comical strip) on Dungeons & Dragons, in general a fantasy roleplaying game.

Still confusing? Not a problem, I'll try to explain the rules in a simple way... any time a new comic strip was going to be created, there will be a few easy options offered for the readers to choose between. According to the votes I get, the characters will face a situation or another, whatever the most people chooses.

To get things even more clear, I'll describe what might have been the first adventure of the characters, their first options and the option chosen by the majority of my readers...

      Dungeon Nerds: the first adventure.

After the adventurers get together, they choose what will be their first step on the big wide world...

      1. Go to buy equipment?
      2. Go to the nearest temple looking for work?
      3. Look for adventure to the nearest dungeon?

After the readers had voted, the majority chose the first option. Thus, here is the related comic strip, in which our adventurers go to get equipment before leaving in search of fame and fortune...

      Introductory example comic strip

Easy, isn't it? Okay, then since this moment the "responsability" of deciding the adventures and misadventures of the characters are in your hands... actually, we're going to start the comic strip from scratch. The first step will be choosing the characters (something I had to do previously in the example). The available characters, from which you'll have to choose an standard party of four adventurers, will be...

Note: the voting is already closed, the final results are shown in the table below the characters.

      Bonus the paladin

Prototypical goody good heroe quick to wield his weapons to defeat evil, with a smile in his face... maybe he's just dumb?

      Gelocatil the elf ranger

His specialty is firing arrows from afar, afar, very faaaaar.... so far that sometimes his companions wonder if he's travelling with them or not...

      Bark the dwarf figther

This short dwarf (that is, shorter than normal) has a wide and cultivated vocabulary, including grunts, war cries and one-word sentences...

      Clumsy the monk

This young monk apprentice (50 years old...) has embraced the adventurer life looking for new challenges in which to measure his skill and improve his martial art... with little success.

      Zippo the wizard

A furious and short-tempered wizard specialized in harming spells... he dreams every night with the day in which he will be able to cast fireballs till his arms hurt...

      Valeriana the elven sorcerer

Valeriana's specialty is putting her enemies to sleep thanks to her powerful Sleep spells... and thanks to her loooooong-winded speeches that nobody wants to hear...

      Tamarix the gnome illusionist

Though illusions are his specialty, sometimes this capable wizard sometimes casts other more devastating spells... and sometimes he even manages to not hit his companions!

      Lucky the halfling rogue

A capable rogue specialized in stealth, disabling devices and sneak slapping people... it's a pity he has such a bad luck...

      Mercy the cleric

A cleric is always a must in an adventurer party... even if the cleric is always in a foul mood and has a bad temper like Mercy's... fortunately she's not a nuisance with tedious religious stuff...

      Enjoy!
