Hydra is a band from Monterrey, NL, México that began to define its style around 1998. The band's music is the result of merging the different influences of its members, that are mainly progressive rock, heavy and doom metal, amongst others.

The atmosphere Hydra wants to create in each composition is based in highly emotive melodies and profound lyrics; however, the band has always kept a strong, explosive feeling inside this ambient, trying to use harmonic motifs that really enhance the meaning behind each piece.

The ideas that complement the band's music are based on feelings, thoughts and reflexions, that make no explicit reference to specific situations, but instead try to present a very magical point of view, open to diverse interpretations.

The band has performed in several events and important places in their hometown Monterrey (Escena, Café Iguanas, La Tumba, Museo Marco, etc), as well as in nearby cities like Matamoros and Reynosa, and has always recieved a good response by the audience. Thus, the band has been selected to perform as opening act in concerts of international bands such as Tristania, Stratovarius y The Flower Kings.
