We list in chronological order of appearance, the official albums released by The Chameleons. On this list we have included references to the John Peel and Radio 1 Sessions, both albums , with the re-release of the Fan and The Bellows compilation, originally edited in a very limited way just before Strange Times, saw the light when the band had disappeared. This is why we divide the discography in two different parts and one interlude.
From the list which appears below, we have intentionally deleted all the albums based on rehearsals, demos and shows which were edited in an pseudo-official way. If you need detailed information regarding this kind of albums, we recommend you to visit the Chameleons Official Site.
Year One
The Chameleons Year One begins with the release of their LP in 1983, Script Of The Bridge, until their split up in 1987 after releasing Strange Times in Geffen Records.

Interlude
During the years in which the Chameleons were inactive, there were released various compilations. The John Peel compilation covers the three sessions they performed in 1981, 1983 and 1984 on the mentioned radio programme. The Return Of The Roughnecks comes out with the Chameleons still extincted, but it is the first time some of the members take active part on the compilation and lay out. The first copies of this double cd contain the songs which were recorded after Strange Times and just before their split up in 1987. These songs were only previously available through the Tony Fletcher EP, which right now is extremelly hard to find
Year Two
Strip, acoustic compilation, is the first work of The Chameleons after their reformation in 2000; it includes a couple of new songs and it is the new starting point for the return of The Chameleons to the stages and to studio. In 2001 it is released through Artful Records Why Call It Anything, the first album 100 % with new songs where the band explores new sounds. In 2002 it is released Live, a live compilations of their tour in 2001 and This Never Ending Now, second part of the accoustic sets which began in 2000, and their last work before their second, sudden and probably definitive split in April of 2003.
